Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026

STARS lets you follow athletes across sports and see when they play, how they did and whether their availability changed. This policy explains what the app stores, why, and the choices you have. The short version: STARS collects as little as it can, shows no ads, doesn't track you across other apps or websites, and never sells your data.

Using STARS without an account

You can use STARS without signing in. Your sports, competitions, followed athletes, favorites, alert settings, reminders and recent searches are then stored only on your device. We don't receive them.

If you create an account

Signing in is optional. It lets your follows and settings sync across devices and lets STARS send you alerts. When you sign in we store:

Recent searches and recently viewed athletes stay on your device even when you're signed in.

What we don't collect

How your data is used

Only to run the features you use: signing you in, syncing your follows and settings, and generating and delivering the alerts you asked for. We don't use your data for advertising or profiling, and we don't sell or rent it.

Who processes it

Account data is stored with our hosting and database provider (Supabase, in the United States). Sign-in codes are sent through an email delivery provider. Push notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service. These providers process data only on our behalf to run STARS.

Sports data (schedules, scores, injury reports, stats) comes from licensed sports data providers. We don't send them any information about you.

Links under "Around the web", news stories and highlights open other websites. Their own privacy policies apply there.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account exists. Alerts older than 60 days are deleted automatically. When you delete your account, your account data is deleted.

Your choices

Children

STARS isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Each account can read and change only its own data, enforced by the database itself.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
